  • Deanna Brummitt is an investigator with significant experience as a labour and employment lawyer and negotiator. Deanna grew up in the Lower Mainland, has a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from Simon Fraser University, and received her law degree from Queen’s University in 2010.

    After spending three years practicing civil litigation at a national law firm, Deanna transitioned to work in-house in the health sector where she practiced labour and employment law for eight years prior to joining Southern Butler Price.

  • Deanna has significant experience managing complex multi-stakeholder relationships, working with all collective agreements in the BC health sector as well as the master agreement covering physicians.

    Deanna has represented clients from both the private and public sector in civil court as well as at mediations and arbitrations. She has also coordinated provincial-level committees and other projects and has extensive experience negotiating and drafting contracts in the public sector.

    Deanna is committed to conducting investigations which follow a comprehensive and fair process and help promote workplaces that are safe, respectful, and productive. She applies a creative and compassionate approach to understanding and resolving issues affecting the workplace.

    Deanna also advises organizations regarding revisions to their respectful workplace policies and complaint processes and procedures. Further, she works with private and public boards and elected officials to support good governance, including the creation and application of codes of conduct.
