Muriel Henry is an experienced labour and employment lawyer who has consistently focused throughout her career on practical and respectful resolution of workplace disputes. Muriel has practised exclusively in the area of workplace investigations since 2018, and takes an impartial, thoughtful, and sensitive approach to this work.
Muriel attained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2002. She practised first with a national law firm and then as a founding member of a Vancouver labour and employment boutique firm. Muriel spent several years in the role of in-house counsel to Canada Post Corporation, which provided an opportunity to develop positive collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization and with numerous unions. Muriel also practised in the provincial public sector providing legal services to government. In all of her prior roles, she was frequently involved in workplace investigations, including advising on process and recommended outcomes.
In 2022 and 2023 Muriel served as Southern Butler Price’s Director of Legal and Client Services, and in this capacity supported the firm’s continued legal excellence and best practices.

Muriel has experience investigating issues of bullying and harassment, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and general workplace misconduct. She has completed training in trauma-informed interviewing and has handled matters involving youth and young adults. Muriel has conducted investigations for a broad range of clients in the public and private sectors, in unionized and non-unionized settings, and in both provincially and federally regulated workplaces. These have included educational institutions, municipalities, community services organizations, health care employers, the provincial public sector, Crown corporations, and national and international private companies in industries including forestry, marine services, aviation services, and hospitality.
In addition to her investigations practice, Muriel has delivered training in respectful workplace issues and conducting investigations, as well as in all areas of labour and human rights law and in labour relations and arbitration skills.
