  • Sarah Chamberlain is an investigator, mediator, and facilitator with experience as a labour and employment lawyer and human resources professional. Sarah has experience practicing in all areas of labour and employment law, including human rights, privacy, civil litigation, and labour arbitrations.

    She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2015, was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016, and worked at a top-tier boutique labour and employment firm prior to joining Southern Butler Price.

    In 2022, Sarah completed a Mediation and Conflict Management course from Harvard Law School Executive Education.

  • Sarah has significant experience in conducting investigations in the public and private sectors, for both federally and provincially regulated workplaces. She has conducted investigations in various sectors, including health care, sports, and education settings with both youth and adults. She focuses on thorough and responsive approaches to her work, and looks for practical and collaborative solutions to reduce workplace conflict. Since 2016, she has conducted workplace investigations involving allegations such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, discrimination, and bullying and harassment.

    In addition to her investigation practice, she has conducted numerous training sessions for both employees and management in a wide variety of topics, such as respectful workplace issues and conducting investigations.

    Mediator
    Sarah Chamberlain worked at a top-tier boutique labour and employment firm prior to joining SBP. Sarah has conducted numerous investigations in the K-12 sector for multiple school districts in BC, involving both teacher/staff and student complainants. Sarah has considered allegations of various forms of misconduct, including sexual harassment. Sarah has also conducted investigations for high-performance sports teams involving coach and athlete relationships, with similar considerations as found in a teacher/student dynamic. In addition, Sarah works as a mediator to provide conflict resolution services and facilitated discussions to resolve disputes, including in post-secondary, municipal, and federal environments.

  • Sarah was appointed by the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner as Independent Investigation/Assessor member for the OSIC Investigation Unit and Sport Environment Assessment Unit in 2022.
