Bill has over twenty years experience having practiced at a large national law firm providing employment and labour relations advice. Bill also has significant experience working in the municipal and post secondary sectors as a lawyer and an operational manager in areas such as employment, privacy, labour relations, security, and emergency management. In all his roles over these years he has led and/or advised and prepared reports on difficult and complex workplace issues and investigations including significant WorkSafeBC incident investigations and related matters.
Bill serves as a board director on BC Hydro Power Authority and Powerex, and is chair of Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. These roles, in combination with having been a municipal solicitor for a municipality, give him significant experience in dealing with governance issues at various government levels with an appreciation of union-employer dynamics. Bill has also served as a UBCM-appointed committee member of the Local Government Contract Management Committee which is a forum for consultation, analysis, and communication between local governments and the Province regarding the management of the RCMP Agreement under which the RCMP provide local police services in BC.
Bill was called to the British Columbia bar in 2002 after obtaining his law degree from the University of British Columbia.

Bill is a solicitor, facilitator, workplace investigator, and mediator. He also provides governance and organizational support for clients and has a long history of training and coaching in investigations, respectful workplaces, and dispute resolution. Bill is available for arbitrations.
