Dayna joined Southern Law in 2026 and is also the principal lawyer of a Vancouver-based business and investment law boutique.
Dayna brings over 25 years of experience advising clients on corporate governance, institutional venture capital, lending, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions. Her practice is grounded in a deep understanding of complex financial and governance structures, which she now applies to her work as a neutral in investigations and assessments involving corporate and commercial matters.
Dayna is known for her thoughtful, pragmatic approach and her ability to work through complex issues with clarity and creativity. She has extensive experience navigating sensitive matters, including those involving financial irregularities, governance disputes, and fiduciary obligations. Her background allows her to approach investigations with both legal rigor and practical insight.
In addition to her legal practice, Dayna has significant training and experience in effective communication and team leadership, which informs her work in high-stakes and multi-party environments.
Dayna obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1996 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1997. Prior to attending law school, she received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University.

Dayna is a frequent presenter and course co-chair for Continuing Legal Education and the Canadian Bar Association. Her speaking engagements have focused on shareholders’ agreements and private corporate finance.
In 2018, she created and co-chaired CLE’s Financing the Tech Start-Up program.
