Lucas Corwin joined Southern Law in 2023 after a 20-year career as a senior leader and executive in the British Columbia public service. He has a passion for public-sector governance and leadership, and has worked with local governments, boards of education, private-sector boards of directors, and statutory offices in helping organizations work through change, improve workplace culture and engagement, and build the capacity of leadership teams. He has a career of building organizations that engage and motivate people, and brings this perspective to his work as a workplace assessor, investigator, and trainer. Lucas has helped public-sector unions and local governments in drafting, implementing, and operationalizing codes of conduct and related policies, and helping elected boards, councils, and officials to build strong governance systems.
Lucas graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 1996. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1997 and practiced workplace law before joining the British Columbia public service.

Governance
Lucas has worked with elected boards to develop and implement codes of conduct, and the establishment and operationalization of independent ethics and integrity offices. He has also worked extensively with public- and private-sector boards to develop governance and leadership capacity of elected officials and senior leaders.
Lucas not only advises on best practice in governance but also has practical experience from serving as a trustee on the Municipal and Teachers’ Pension Plan Boards of Trustees and the BC Pension Corporation Board.
Assessor
Lucas has a passion for helping organizations create workplace cultures that value collaboration and innovation, motivating teams toward a common vision and cause of action. He is an experienced change leader focusing on evidence-based decision making in public-sector organizations. His assessment work with organizations focusses on identifying the drivers of workplace strengths and areas for growth, and providing practical, meaningful recommendations for addressing workplace issues, based on his experience over 20 years as a senior leader and executive of organizations.
